First of all I’d like to say I Like watching the show “El Gordo y La Flaca” on Univision. It shows funny stuff and some type of entertainment news. In the article Fired Univision host apologizes to first lady talks about a fired host. I can’t say I watched this episode where the host of Univision Rodner Figueroa made a comment about the first lady Michelle Obama. He apparently made a reference to her being part of the planet of the apes cast.  After his comment he got fired, called racist I don’t know how exactly race came into play on this. But honestly I've seen this show and sometimes they make fun of actors movie starts as a tease game. Like all news and magazines always making up drama about celebrities. But the whole world would end just because he said something about the first lady. Which I think is ridiculous! Sure was unprofessional but that’s how show business is. I've heard things said about the president himself. But didn't cost people there jobs. I think they were being a bit dramatic. Why end a man’s long career over something that has no effect, I’m sure people in the lime light are used to this sort of commentary. Surely Michelle Obama as well as her husband, she’s a nice lady from what I've read about her. Not going to deny its rude to say things about people, but how is this any different from people reporting news about other famous people. Sadly it’s something they have to deal with and just brush it off and like Taylor Swift does just smile and laugh and even laugh at yourself sometimes. I don’t agree on him getting fired, he did apologize and maybe perhaps they could have given him a chance. He has been with the company for various years and one simple mistake ruined all for him. I think the author Kendall’s intended audience would be the entire American country, they take seriously what people say about the president or his wife. That’s no joke and nothing to be messed with apparently. Or else it could be someone’s down fall, even if they didn't mean any harm by it not saying Figueroa meant no harm, just generally speaking. I give author her props for also getting the scoop on what the apology letter Figueroa said to the first lady. She did a good job writing this article, and maybe as a future reference they can plan what to say on the show and make sure its approved before they say it. This way no one loses their jobs over anything that came out the wrong way.

In The New York Times  Republicans Warn Washington to Think Twice About Legalizing Marijuana
By Jennifer Steinhauer, talks about how the state of Washington has legalized Marijuana.  This article menchings people that are 21 and older are legalized to carry 2 ounces. So many people were not happy about this legalization action at all. A lady named “Ms. Buerkle stressed the impact of a drug she said would ‘stupefy our youth’.” As of right now they Mayor and other public officials in Washington State are still working out certain laws that tie in with the legalization of marijuana. For example certain age factors, what is till illegal and legal, for example saleing it is still illegal. “Michael Czin, a spokesman for Mayor Muriel Bowser, said in an email. ‘It’s largely business as usual for us. Right now, we’re focused on implementing the law in a thoughtful, responsible way and making sure our residents know what they can and cannot do’.” Throughout the entire article the author just talks about the negative sides to this new law. As well as focuses on the people whom don’t support  it. She fails to address anyone that really supports it and has an opinion about that support. Jennifer’s main focus in this article was the negative aspects of it and the unhappy people’s thoughts and concerns. She doesn't put her own opinion in writing but form just getting one point of view being the negative one can only conclude what side she may be on. She may not support it at all herself and in a subtle way portray that in her article, by only getting one sided thoughts and concerns about the legalization of marijuana. Why did she not get both sides? She stood by the negative aspect of it all. The authors intended audience is those who appose the legalization. Perhaps trying to add spark in people so this doesn't happen to more states to in a way stop this from progressing, by only focusing on the negative.

I personally agree with it’s not a good idea to legalize marijuana. Especially since I believe Washington State hasn't really worked out many of the kinks in this. There may be some ways around the illegal aspect of the laws that people can go about and it wouldn't be illegal because Washington state government is still in the progress of writing out the rules for the people. I honestly don’t think they were prepared enough when they decided to pass this law.

Ferguson Police Department has been testing a new less lethal hand gun weapon. They have created a gun that potentially can be used for the police department to not kill or extremely hurt anyone they shoot at. This new gun is supposed to neutralize the suspect and, not kill suspect but there is no guarantee they won’t be killed they are still working on the less lethal weapon. It is to save more lives and not kill so many suspects. This has been a plan for the police department after the killing of an unarmed teenager in Missouri. There is an orange device that goes over a normal handgun and once the bullet is released it is embedded into an alloy projectile ball. Once the ball hits the subject the subject instantly will feel shock wave of pain, without it actually penetrating the subject, thus less likely to be killed.  Even though they still are working on this less lethal method, what if soon the states government only allows police departments to use the less lethal handguns and soon United States government potentially favors this option. What would this mean for our fellow Police department? Would this small idea possibly turn nationwide? Would this mean Policemen’s lives be more in danger than it already is? I feel everyone should read this, because something small and merely just a testing subject can turn into something much bigger before we have a chance to approve or deny this idea of less lethal handguns. If people read this now and majority does not approve it may be possible to stop these ideas before they progress any further. If criminals use hang guns that can kill and Police officials don't how will they protect themselves from being killed by the suspects? I wonder what will the government do about this idea the Police Department in Ferguson is testing.
